How long does it take to receive my handmade jewelry? We ship all in-stock items within three business days. Orders are sent insured and trackable, using the shipping method selected at checkout. Delivery times depend on your location and the shipping option you choose, but we always make sure your jewelry is packed with care and on its way quickly.
-
Will my jewelry look exactly like the photo? If the item is one-of-a-kind, the piece you see is the exact one you’ll receive. However, for designs where we have multiple pieces in stock—especially those made with natural stones like turquoise—your jewelry may vary slightly in color, pattern, or matrix from the photo. That’s because each stone is unique, and no two are ever exactly alike. We hand-select every stone to ensure it captures the same essence, shape, and feel as the original. So while your piece may not be identical, it will still reflect the design and spirit you fell in love with.
-
Do you accept custom jewelry orders?Currently, we do not accept custom orders unless a specific product listing indicates otherwise. If a piece is marked as customizable, it will be clearly noted in the description. Custom items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Please ensure that all customization details are accurate before placing your order. Any errors due to incorrect information provided by the customer are not eligible for return. Of course, if there’s an issue due to our own error, we’ll make it right.

How do I know what size ring or bracelet to order?Finding the right fit matters. For rings, you can measure the inside diameter of a ring you already own or visit a local jeweler for the most accurate size. At home, a great option is the free Ring Sizer by Jason Withers app (also available on Android), which lets you place a ring on your screen to determine the correct size. Prefer a physical method? You can also use our printable ring sizing guide (PDF) to measure your finger at home—just be sure to print it at 100% scale. For bracelets, wrap a soft measuring tape around your wrist and add about half an inch for comfort. Each product page includes additional sizing tips. If you’re still unsure, feel free to contact us—we’re happy to help you find your perfect fit.
-
What is your return policy for handmade jewelry? We want you to love your piece—and we’re here to make things right if something isn’t quite as expected. If your jewelry arrives damaged or faulty, we’ll gladly replace it or offer a refund once it’s returned. We also accept returns within 10 days of delivery if you’re not satisfied, as long as the item is returned in its original (or near-original) condition. Please note that custom or final sale items are not eligible for return. To begin a return, contact us as soon as possible to request an approved return number. Returns without approval may not be accepted, and customers are responsible for return shipping unless otherwise agreed upon. Refunds and replacements are issued at our discretion, but we’re always committed to making sure you’re happy with what you receive.

It’s nickel-safe, meaning the trace amounts are typically bonded in a way that prevents irritation. It's a great alternative to sterling silver for those prone to allergies.
-
How do you clean stainless steel jewelry?Cleaning stainless steel jewelry is simple—use warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, a gentle toothbrush can remove buildup. Avoid harsh chemicals, and always dry thoroughly to keep the finish looking its best.
-
Does stainless steel tarnish or turn green? No—unlike some metals, stainless steel doesn’t tarnish or turn green. It maintains its shine with minimal care and is highly resistant to oxidation and discoloration, making it a low-maintenance choice for everyday jewelry.
-
Is stainless steel better than sterling silver for jewelry? Both metals have their strengths. Stainless steel is more durable and resistant to scratches and tarnish, making it ideal for low-maintenance, everyday pieces. Sterling silver offers a softer, more traditional look with a higher silver content. At Stardust Turquoise, we use both—each chosen with intention to match the design and purpose of the piece.
-

What does ethical handmade jewelry mean?Ethical handmade jewelry is created with care for people, materials, and the planet. It means sourcing stones and metals as responsibly as possible, paying fair wages, and making each piece by hand—rather than relying on mass production. At Stardust Turquoise, we focus on creating jewelry with integrity, intention, and respect for the origin of every element we use.
-
Are your materials ethically sourced? We strive to use ethically sourced stones and metals, partnering with suppliers who share our values. While we’re not perfect, we’re intentional—choosing quality materials that respect both the craft and the Earth.
-
How can I tell if jewelry is ethically made?Look for transparency in materials, sourcing, and craftsmanship. Ethically made jewelry often uses genuine stones, recycled or responsibly sourced metals, and is handcrafted by a real person—not mass-produced in factories. At Stardust Turquoise, each piece is made one at a time, using thoughtfully sourced turquoise and semi-precious stones, so you can feel confident about what you’re wearing—and where it came from.
-
Is turquoise a durable stone for everyday wear?Turquoise is a relatively soft stone, which means it needs a little extra care. It’s best to avoid prolonged exposure to water, chemicals, or heavy impact. That said, when worn with awareness, turquoise can absolutely be part of your daily ritual—it’s been worn for centuries for its beauty and energy.
-
Does turquoise have any meaning or symbolism?Yes—turquoise has been valued for thousands of years for its protective and spiritual properties. Often associated with healing, clarity, and connection to the sky and earth, it’s worn not just for beauty, but for energy. Many believe it supports calm, courage, and communication.
-
Where does turquoise come from?Turquoise is found in arid regions around the world, where copper-rich minerals meet just the right conditions over millions of years. Some of the most sought-after turquoise originates from the American Southwest, particularly Arizona and New Mexico, including well-known mines such as Kingman, Sleeping Beauty, and Royston. Other notable sources include Iran (historically known as Persia), Egypt, Mexico, China, and Tibet. At Stardust Turquoise, we source our stones from trusted suppliers who provide genuine turquoise from various global locations. Each stone reflects the land it came from—its color, matrix, and energy shaped by the soil, the climate, and time itself.
-
What colors does real turquoise come in?Genuine turquoise naturally occurs in a range of colors—from vibrant sky blue to soft green and everything in between. The color of the stone depends on the minerals present, and each variation tells its own unique story. No two stones are ever the same, which is part of what makes turquoise so beloved.
-
What makes handmade turquoise jewelry different from mass-produced pieces?Handmade jewelry holds the touch of the maker—no two pieces are ever exactly alike. Each one is shaped by hand, built with intention, and tells its own quiet story. With handmade turquoise jewelry, you’re not just wearing an accessory—you’re wearing something meaningful, made to last.
-
How can I tell if my turquoise is real?Authentic turquoise has natural variations in color and matrix, including those beautiful veins and patterns. At Stardust Turquoise, we utilize genuine stones sourced from trusted suppliers worldwide. Real turquoise isn’t overly glossy or perfectly uniform—its imperfections are what make it powerful.
-
What is the best way to care for handmade sterling silver jewelry? To keep your sterling silver jewelry looking its best, store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid contact with lotions, perfumes, or chemicals. Gently clean with a soft polishing cloth—no harsh cleaners needed. The natural patina that develops over time is part of the story, but you can polish it if you wish.
-
Is sterling silver hypoallergenic?Yes, sterling silver is generally hypoallergenic and safe for most individuals with sensitive skin. It contains no nickel, which is often the cause of allergic reactions. It’s a great choice for earrings, rings, and everyday wear.
-
What is silver metal clay in jewelry?Silver metal clay is a fine silver material made from recycled silver particles suspended in a natural binder. It starts as a soft, moldable clay that can be shaped by hand—perfect for creating organic, one-of-a-kind textures. When fired in a kiln, the binder burns away and what’s left is solid, 99.9% pure silver. Jewelry made from metal clay is real silver and holds the same value, durability, and beauty as traditional sterling pieces—just with a handmade touch you won’t find anywhere else.
-
Will sterling silver tarnish over time?Yes—sterling silver naturally oxidizes when exposed to air, especially if it’s unworn for a while. This is completely normal and can be easily fixed with a polishing cloth. Some people even love the darkened patina—it adds depth and character.
-
How do I prevent my sterling silver jewelry from tarnishing? To slow tarnishing, store your sterling silver in a sealed container or anti-tarnish pouch when not in use. Avoid humidity, lotions, and harsh chemicals. Regular wear and a simple polish with a soft cloth can keep it glowing naturally.
-
What is sterling silver made of?Sterling silver is a high-quality metal composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% alloy, typically copper. This blend strengthens the silver without affecting its beauty, making it ideal for handcrafted jewelry that lasts.
